THE ROCK OF TRUTH
Upon the mighty rock of truth
Shall every life be tried
Stripped of every pretense
Naked, the wicked seek to hide
One cannot approach this bar
And retain the intent to deceive
Truth’s light dispels such hope
Causing anguish one needs to relieve
But anguish may serve a purpose
If it brings one to bended knee
If it breaks apart the hardened heart
And allows one to clearly see
If such a moment of clarity
Awaits each anxious soul
Why should change be delayed
Why wait to become pure and whole
One is eager to assist in such a task
To heal where harm resides
Accept now His offer to atone
Believe His healing presides
Embrace fully His sacred gift
To undo the woeful life
Find certain strength in Christ
To overcome evil’s strife
Then as your time comes
To face the bar of God
Your nakedness will be covered
By robes of goodness unflawed
Now approach the judgment bar
Cleansed from the stain of sin
Washed clean by His holy blood
And with joy be welcomed in
