BEARTH
Only a tiny tear at first
Just a trembling drop
But soon another follows, and then
They just came and would not stop
I’d known all along this day would come
But that does nothing to ease my pain
It’s now time now for me to leave
And it’s way too late to refrain
It’s something that I want to do
I’ve yearned for it all this while
But now that it’s here, I’m afraid
What awaits me in this new trial
It’s not that I’ve changed my mind
It’s something for which I’ve planned
It’s just that it’s all so unknown
I want someone to hold my hand
My fears and tears are felt and met
My Father hears my cry
He whispers for me to come to Him
And once again I tell Him why
My child, wipe away your tears
There will be someone to hold your hand
Someone there to take my place
It’s just as I have planned
As you leave here your eyes will close
And you’ll remember us no more
You’ll enter there a tiny and helpless babe
But with parents who know what’s in store
They shall love you just as I have
They were sent ahead to be your guide
And others have I sent on too
That will often be by your side
So you see, my child
Though you’ll soon be leaving here
Unable to feel My embrace
Others are there to ease your fear
So it’s not alone you go after all
Even now they wait for you
Take your parents’ hands through the veil
And let them pull you through
All of this has been planned
Everything you’ll need is prepared
And My Spirit can be with you there
So there’s no need to be scared
My love for you will never dim
But it may not be evident at first
You’ll travel a long and difficult road
And think you’ve experienced the worst
But it’s in tasting the worst
That makes the good so sweet
After you’ve known and overcome affliction
We’ll both rejoice when again we meet
My child, the time has come for you to leave
Your mother is in the throes of her travail
Don’t be afraid of what lies ahead
All heaven combines to help you prevail
